What use to be

It was a week after we burned our house and also that Matthew erased Brett and Kristine from existence to everyone on security cameras, photos, everything and they forged a fake I.D. so they could be trainers. Gardevoir laid her egg and we were waiting for ours to hatch. Arbok would be so happy and so would I.

"Kristine, think about what happened to us. We burned our house, rebuilt it, and killed an army together. We need a break." Brett said as I slithered into the huge Living room. He was standing near the futon that Kristine was lying on.

"I know. We need something to take our minds off of that experience. Do you have any ideas?" She asked Brett.

"I don't know, I wouldn't be asking you if I did."

"True." She said and I decided to ask something. I slithered to them with the egg in my coils.

"Hey Brett, Hey Kristine. What do you think on the name of the kid?" I asked them.

"I don't know Kaysen. We won't know for sure until it hatches." Brett said.

"Well it would have to be a boy or a girl. Go start out with that." Kristine said. I rolled my eyes and slithered into the kitchen to meet Arbok.

"Hey, Kaysen." He said, giving me a kiss. "What did they say?"

"They said they wont know until it hatches." I said as I held the egg.

"I don't know what to name it, but I can tell you that it would be great if we could see him." He said.

"Or her." I corrected. He giggled and held the egg.

"Yeah, or her." He said as he slithered to his room.

We waited for the egg to hatch and waited… and waited. Soon Conner and Gardevoir's egg hatched and they were just speechless. He named him Neo and they where the greatest of family. But we waited and ours still didn't hatch. I decided to ask Brett what's wrong with it. I slithered into his room with the egg in my coils. "Brett?"

"Yeah, Kaysen?" he asked and looked at me. He saw the egg in my coils.

"do you know what is wrong with it?" I asked and handed him the Egg. He held the purple egg and Arbok saw this.

"What's going on?" He asked as he slithered into the room.

"Our egg hasn't hatched yet." Brett placed a hand on the egg and looked at it with Pity. He looked at us and shook his head.

"I'm very and truly sorry, but it won't hatch, and it never will." He said. I was shocked. My flesh and blood; gone forever? I felt the hot tears start to fill my eyes and I cried into Arbok's hood.

Everyone was devastated about that, but the one who was the most destroyed was Arbok. He never showed another emotion again. He was hollow. I hated this as much as he did and loved the egg just as much, but this was different. I decided to ask him something. I slithered to his room and looked to see if he was inside. Lucky for me, he was and finished a Bidoof.

"Arbok?" I asked him and he looked at me.

"What?" he said in an emotionless voice that sent chills up my long spine.

"I know you are just as destroyed as I was about that, believe me, it was my baby too, but this isn't good for people to do. I thing we should better off be as long term friends." I said to him.

"You're breaking up with me?" he said in a deadpan voice. "I don't care. I accept your offer and I agree. I don't need you anymore. I'm going hunting now" He slithered out of the room and out of the house, closing the door as anyone would. This wasn't good for him. I waited and waited for him to come home and three weeks later, he came home with a Lopunny in his coils. I slithered up to his room and heard a yelling inside the room.

"Please, Let me go!" said an almost heavenly voice that was the Lopunny.

"No. you are my food and I want stop until I eat you."

"WAIT!" the Lopunny yelled

"What?"

"Tell me what is wrong, and then I will let you eat me." There was a long pause, then I heard for the first time since the news of the egg, his voice full of emotion again.

"if you want to know" He said angrily, "FINE. I had a baby never born and I never saw it. HAPPY?!"

"I am very sorry for you and I know what you are experiencing."

"No you DON'T!" He said and the door creaked open and I saw inside that he squeezed her until her head poped.

"YES I DO!" She yelled and he loosened his grip.

"Explain." He said as he had a menacing look on his face.

"My mate dumped me, destroyed my egg, and left me for dead wile I tried to reason with him, we wouldn't listen. If I could go back and stop him from doing that, I would, but I can control the past." She then cried and his expression softened.

"I am sorry for that. I will make this quick and painless for you." He said as he opened his mouth.

"No!" she said and ha stopped. "I want to start over with a friend and I need someone." This was sad. I could go in there and comfort her, but Arbok beet me to it by wiping a tear from her eye.

"I need to start over, too. I lost my baby and my girlfriend dumped me. I really need someone." He said as a tear filled his red eye. Lopunny finally removed a hand to wipe away the tear.

"Me too. We could start that. We can start over with each other, if you want." Lopunny asked. I was dumbfounded. Arbok and a Lopunny? Is that even possible? What happened next surprised me so much that I stayed in that doorway for 4 minutes.

"I…I would like that. A lot." Arbok said and they stared into each others eyes. I finally could move aain and I slithered down the stairs and found Brett.

"Brett. I found out something." I said.

"what did you find out?" he asked.

"I found out Arbok is better and I can show him my boyfriend now." I said and Brett looked at me with a dumbfounded look.

"Maybe you should wait until he is closer to the Lopunny before you tell him." He said. He already knew? Oh yeah, he can sense peoples emotions.

"Good idea." I said and opened the door to go back to Ace and his friends and to my egg.
