Obviously this is a rant for me. I'm just explaining to people the trouble I'm going through(though I am stressing this too much because I'm trying to platinum on a game). Anyway, thank you all for reading.

I want people to know that this is going to be a rant. Some opinionated stuff is going to be said. Read at your own risk.

The way I was raised in school was hard to define. I always made good grades and blah. But I always stayed in my little corner and read books until high school(technically middle school). This is where I made good friends. But this isn't about my friends. It's about the school system.
I find it flawed because not only does it revolve about multiple choice but it also revolves about memorizing facts. Something I excelled at. This is why I wasn't doing too good in college; I am so used to memorizing facts I never had much time to think critically about it(aside from reading and critical thinking questions which is why I hated it) and I find that somewhat useless in the real world. The way I see it now is that the best questions to answer are the ones where you don't choose what answer you think is right.
If some teachers are reading this ask yourselves this: am I teaching my kids right? Because in multiple choice questions you have a choice and work with what choices you have. This doesn't work well enough for people in jobs especially in politics. They get paid to think. You have to create an idea and stick with it and back it up! The only way people will learn is if they think for themselves. That's why the most successful people dropped out of college or high school like David carp(person whom founded Twitter), Quentin Tarantino, bill gates, Joe Lewis(he's from
Britain but point still made)! They are all successful because the learning system if flawed. They were intelligent people whom took a gamble to prove they are intelligent!
This flaw also harms a person like me: antisocial brainiac that doesn't get the nerve to ask people to be a their friend or even have panic attacks to try and ask for help. We can learn how to memories in instants. But what happens when we try and make an essay for our college professor to make assumptions about how and why something happened and how it lead up to what? We freak out and fail miserably! At least, that happened to me. I'm(trying not to) about to go on academic probation because I can't build up the nerve to ask for help! And I've also been trained by my childhood/teenager years to understand that I have not studies and I make 100 for memorizing facts, which becomes pointless!
Simple: we fail. And by extension(thanks to society) we fail at life.
I have this to say: our system of critical exams and scheduled testings allow us to build up a memory for facts! They don't allow us to think about what these facts mean! They just assume that "oh they know this then they must know how to relate these together". Not for me. At least not entirely. It wasn't for the fact I am failing my classes and asking my professor to help, I wouldn't be writing this in the first place!
In conclusion I just wish I could restart my entire college semester because right now I have relatively good grades for a freshman. But I am still struggling to try and pass! I really hate the school's demand for tests because, in real life, THEY ARE NIGH WORTHLESS!
I know someone will correct me with my rant and complain, but I don't care. If they correct me, they obviously didn't read it(to which I commend you for reading this rant and caring for my feelings). I'm struggling with college. And I wish I could go back in time and fix this shit!

You know, something my English teacher told me was that the tests people take, (such as ACT, SAT, Compass, etc) Are all pointless. They determine your score, your thinking ability, but guess what they don't do? They cant score how smart you are. Point is, you could be amazing at school, but suck at tests. My English teacher never made a good score on any test, yet he graduated college because he was smart- he just wasn't good at tests.
Another good point a little off side of this, is I was talking to a friend of mine about what is the real point of putting kids into school, and I remember grades pre through 4th the only thing we were ever graded on was our behavior. Then at the end of a year, a test. That was it.
I wish that the school system was flexible you know, where they understand that each student thinks, perceives, and talks differently... why shouldn't the curriculum and the way teachers teach be different too?
